The fountain requires the connected water supply to be frost-free to ensure optimal functionality in all seasons.

The original Frostline system works by a self-emptying valve that automatically empties the hydrant of water when you are done using it. The system is simple and mechanical and requires no electricity. It ensures that water does not stagnate in the hydrant, preventing both frost cracking in the winter months and bacterial growth in the warmer months.
